High resistance to temperature and chemicals

iglidur® HLW is a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material especially developed for applications in high atmospheric humidity or under water. Plain bearings made from iglidur® HLW can be used completely free of lubrication; in wet applications, the surrounding media acts as additional lubricant. Suitable for temperatures up to +200°C. Very low coefficients of friction when used with hardened shafts.

• Approx. 70% less wear, compared to PPS (test: wear, rotating; t= 23°C, p= 1 MPa, v= 0.3 m/s)
• Up to 50% lower coefficient of friction compared to PEEK and PPS (coefficient of friction rotating; t= 23°C, p= 1 MPa, v= 0.3 m/s)
