A checkweigher is a scale that is used to monitor the production of goods according to weight criteria. A distinction can be made between static and dynamic checkweighers. Due to automation, automatic dynamic checkweighers are usually used in the production process to measure the test object as it passes through. These must function perfectly in order to guarantee a flawless process.

Various igus® components have proven themselves by meeting the appropriate requirements. The parts used in the height adjustment of the checkweigher had to be durable, require no lubrication or maintenance and be lightweight. For example, dryspin lead screw drives were used to manually adjust the height. The lead screw nut is made from the high-performance polymer iglidur J and is therefore 100% lubrication and maintenance-free. Thanks to the aluminium lead screw, the lightweight could be achieved. In addition, a load of 1,500N can be absorbed.
