Electrically controlled functions in passenger cars, commercial and special vehicles are becoming increasingly complex. If damage occurs to the power and signal cables, the function of the vehicle suffers and the reputation of the manufacturer is also at stake. Our energy supply systems protect your moving cables. They are used B. in electric sliding doors, seat adjusters and boot lids. In doing so, they are geared to meet the latest requirements: not only do they fulfil the task of guiding cables through countless cycles in confined installation spaces, they are also light and quiet - important criteria in the age of electro-mobility and in the new interior.
This year, we are launching 168 innovations. Industry Manager Johannis Zournatzis will present the top news for the automotive industry in less than two minutes. This includes parts printed in 3D with igumid P150:
High torsional resistance
Smallest inner heights and bend radii
Mounting brackets with strain relief optional
Small pitch for silent operation
Cost-effective solution for large volumes
Can be shortened or lengthened as required through injection-moulded, modular chain band
Easy to open
Easy to fix using the hole on the chain band
Less installation space required
Cable-friendly with defined bend radius
Can be easily retrofitted
Stable to prevent unintentional sideways movements
No change in the impermeability of the corrugated hose
Autonomous delivery vans, self-driving vans and conference shuttles with movable furniture: this is how the interiors may look like in the future, with more electrically moving components, efficiently used in confined spaces. Our e-chains ensure that the movement functions reliably, quietly and inconspicuously.
e-chains in sliding doors guide cables in the smallest installation space, e.g. for keyless entry systems and safety features. They prolong the cables service life due to defined radii and kinematics.
The electrics in cars have increased immensely and more and more systems are permanently supplied with electricity so as to offer the necessary driving comfort. e-chains are ideal for guiding cables safely from A to B.
e-chains are dimensionally stable in different environments and climate zones, and are able to cope with high acceleration and forces applied to them. Therefore, they protect cables in the wiper systems during constant movement.
The company Yanfeng Automotive Interior has developed a centre console that slides over 1200 mm. This required an energy chain for minimum installation space and with quiet operation. In addition, a standard stock item was required in order to keep the costs low. The ideal solution was found with the E2 micro.
See for yourself the quality of our products. The e-chain sample box contains information on energy supplies, applications in the automotive industry and the most important igus products: the e-chains E1, E2 micro and E2 mini.
In our test laboratory, the largest in the industry, more than 10 billion test cycles are carried out per year with energy chains and chainflex cables in a total of 180 test stations. The focus is on noise tests and the examination of tribological properties under varying directions of movement, temperatures, media and continuous load. The results are entered into our tools to calculate service life and allow for precise predictions regarding their durability.
Upon request, igus carries out customer tests so as to check the use of the products under completely individual conditions.
