Problem

Previous writing robots worked very slowly and showed poor durability, which resulted in high maintenance costs. Furthermore, they also did not meet the desired standards in terms of writing quality.
The machine is stored in a warehouse, which fact had to be taken into account during development so that it would work robustly and reliably in a very dusty environment. In a dusty environment it is more difficult for products with external lubrication, as dirt can accumulate there, which then inhibits the ability to slide.

Solution

By using the drylin® linear guide rail bearings and lead screw nuts, the designing of a writing robot that has excellent writing performance and an efficient production time was possible. Thanks to our special material mixture, the lowest coefficients of friction can be achieved, which is why there is no need for relubrication.
All performance requirements were taken into account, which is why SPLINE was now able to develop a robot without lubrication and with minimal maintenance.
