This plant is a system for processing and drying a wide variety of culinary herbs. The manufacturer of the system, Neumayer Maschinenbau GmbH, was increasingly confronted with problems regarding machine running time and breakdowns. Components were causing problems at several points in the processing plant:
For example, the belt scrapers were heavily soiled and no longer worked properly. Also, some ball bearings were defective and the shaft stubs of belt rollers worn. The manufacturer was therefore looking for a wear-resistant and durable alternative.

In response to the problems in the herb-processing plant, those responsible ultimately decided in favour of bearing components from the iglidur product range. While special bearings made of iglidur are used for the belt grinder, regular iglidur plain bearings have replaced the ball bearings. iglidur plastic bearings are cost-effective, versatile and free from maintenance and lubrication. The various iglidur materials can be designed to meet a wide range of customer requirements, such as extreme temperatures, heavy loads or high media resistance. The new bearings helped increase service life, drastically lower maintenance intensity and significantly reduce downtimes.
