Long-term test of a lubrication- and maintenance-free toothed belt axis

Interim report from an ongoing test:
The wear of a drylin® E linear axis with motor is analysed in a long-term test.
A toothed belt axis of the
type ZLW-1040 and a stepper motor with an installation size of NEMA 23 are used. The entire unit is free from lubrication and maintenance. The test simulates a travelling stacking magazine or a production line that moves material.
The endurance test is carried out under the following test parameters:

Moved weight: 10kg

Speed: approx. 1m/s

Acceleration: approx. 3m/s²

Ambient temperature: 25°C

Interim result:
After more than 1,000,000 cycles, there is no visible wear. This corresponds to a distance of approximately 1,000km. The next evaluation will take place at 5,000,000 cycles, i.e. at 5,000km.
